The Wrong Bus Ride

It was Monday morning, and Emma was running late for her new job. She rushed out of her small apartment, her hair still wet, and ran to the bus stop. The bus was already there. Without looking at the number, she jumped in and sat down, breathing fast.

At first, everything seemed fine. She looked out the window, listening to music and thinking about her first day. But after ten minutes, Emma noticed something strange. The streets looked different. There were tall trees, small shops, and no tall buildings.

“Excuse me,” she asked the old woman beside her, “Does this bus go to Green Street?”

The woman smiled kindly. “Oh, dear, no. This bus goes to Blue Hill.”

Emma’s eyes grew wide. “Blue Hill? That’s the other side of the city!”

She laughed nervously. The woman laughed too. “Well,” the old lady said, “maybe this is a good day for a small adventure.”

Emma thought for a moment. She decided not to panic. She got off at the next stop and walked around Blue Hill. It was peaceful—birds singing, children playing, people smiling. She bought a cup of coffee and sat in a small park.

When she finally took the right bus home, she felt calm and happy.

That night, Emma smiled and said to herself, “Sometimes the wrong bus takes you to the right place.”
