The Day I Missed My Flight

The moment the airport loudspeaker echoed my name—“Final boarding call for passenger Daniel Grey”—a cold shiver ran through me. I was sprinting across Terminal C like a fugitive, dodging suitcases, coffee cups, and irritated travelers. My lungs burned, my shirt clung to my back, and yet I kept running, convinced I could still make it.

By the time I reached the gate, the door had already shut. A uniformed attendant offered me a rehearsed smile and shook her head. “I’m sorry, sir. The plane has departed.”
