Ordering Coffee for the First Time

It was a sunny morning. Sara stood outside a small café. She felt a little nervous. It was her first time ordering coffee in English.

She opened the door. The smell of fresh coffee filled the air. People were sitting, talking, and laughing. The barista smiled and said, “Hello! How are you today?”

Sara’s heart beat fast. She wanted to say something, but only one word came out: “Coffee!” The barista laughed kindly. “Sure! What kind of coffee would you like? Latte? Cappuccino? Espresso?”

Sara froze. Too many choices! She looked around. A man at the counter said, “Latte, please.” Sara repeated quickly, “Latte, please!”

The barista nodded. “Small or large?” Sara thought for a second and showed her hands: “Large, please!”

A few minutes later, she got her drink. She took a sip. It was warm, sweet, and perfect. She smiled proudly.

The barista said, “Great choice! Your English is very good.”

Sara laughed. “Thank you. My English is better after coffee!”

And from that day, every time she wanted to practice English, she went to a café. Coffee became her magic teacher.
