Lost and Found at the Park

 It was a sunny Sunday morning. Emma put on her blue hat, grabbed her favorite book, and walked to the park near her home. Birds were singing, children were laughing, and the smell of fresh grass made her smile. She found a quiet bench under a big tree and started reading her book.

After a few minutes, she heard a soft sound — “Meow.” Emma looked down and saw a small gray kitten hiding under the bench. Its fur was dirty, and it looked scared.

“Oh, you poor thing!” she said gently. The kitten meowed again, and Emma slowly reached out her hand. To her surprise, the kitten walked to her and rubbed its head against her shoe.

Emma looked around but saw no one. She asked people nearby, “Is this your kitten?” Everyone shook their heads. Emma didn’t know what to do. She didn’t want to leave it alone.

She decided to take the kitten to the park office. The park worker smiled and said, “Yes! A little boy lost his kitten this morning. He was crying.”

Just then, a small boy ran in, his eyes full of hope. When he saw the kitten, he shouted, “Milo!” and hugged it tightly. The kitten purred happily.

The boy’s mother thanked Emma again and again. Emma smiled and said, “I’m just glad I found him.”

As she walked home, she felt light and happy. She had come to the park to read a story—but she ended up being part of one.
