A Visit to the Doctor

 Anna woke up with a strange problem. When she opened her mouth to say “Good morning,” no sound came out! She tried again, but still nothing. Her voice was gone.

“Oh no,” she thought. “I have an important meeting today. What should I do?”

She put on her coat and went to the doctor’s office. The waiting room was full of people: a man with a big red nose, a little girl holding her stomach, and an old lady coughing loudly. Anna sat down nervously.

Finally, the nurse called her name. She entered the doctor’s room. The doctor smiled kindly and asked, “What brings you here?” Anna pointed at her throat and moved her lips without sound.

The doctor checked her throat with a small light. Then he laughed softly. “Don’t worry,” he said. “Your voice is not lost. You just shouted too much yesterday. Did you sing or talk loudly?”

Anna remembered. Last night she sang karaoke with her friends for three hours! She smiled and nodded.

The doctor gave her some tea and honey and said, “Rest your voice for two days. After that, you will sing again.”

Anna laughed silently. She finally found her missing voice!
